Big Poppa and his Semi!
Carlo and Sophia after only 1 hour in the car!
The move itself was well, let's just say eventful. Carl and I were up to about 1 am packing up the rental truck and the Highlander for the trip. Around 1am were throwing things into the truck just to get it in the truck. We even left some things by the garage that were not very travel friendly and labeled it "FREE". We left around 5am the next morning. The trip itself took about 11 1/2 hours, mainly because the budget truck could not go over 55 mph and the kids required frequent stops. The only saving grace were the coffee stops along the way. We had an amazing real estate agent in Bangor named Jamie. And the lawyer we worked with for closing on the house in Bangor was sooo nice. So nice that she came to her office after hours for us to sign the closing papers and then invited us into her home if we did not have water or heat when we got the house on Grant St! Considering we pulled into Bangor, ME around 7:30 pm we were eternally grateful. Needless to say the house had electricity/heat and water and we were able to spend our first night in our new home in Maine. We had not seen the house since our visit to look at real estate about 1 month prior, so it was exciting to see the house! Our beds that evening and the next evening was a inflatable mattress that we slept on in the dining room. (Not completely uncomfortable, ha ha) Dinner was take out for the next 3 days, which was exciting for Carlo and helped us get a feel for where things were in town.
