Annual Gingerbread House Decorating
Decorating a gingerbread house had become a tradition for us, especially Carlo. He loves this part of getting ready for the holidays. Well evidently Oliver like the gingerbread houses too, but to eat them. He managed to eat the tree and the roof off the house once it was finished and drying. Needless to say Carlo was devastated and we weren't able to decorate the one we made. So we got a new one to make. This one is a gingerbread train... even better. And we'll keep it away from Oliver this time!

All done and ready to decorate!

Sophia's First Day of School!
Well I can't believe it but Sophia is now in school. With our new schedules and the need for Sophia to socialize we decided to take the plunge. Some of our friends send their daughter to the school we chose and it came highly recommended by other people we know. The school is a montessori school and there are only up to 12 kids in the school. The director/teacher of the school does it out of her home and it is just a great place for a school. I love how the emphasis is on making good decisions and most all, love. Amy (the director) and her assistant Autumn truely love all the kids and let them know it. We have had some seperation anxiety but evidently this is to be expected. Sophia likes routine so we take Carlo to the bus stop together THEN we take her to school. I think she likes to know that all the other kids are in school and then it's ok for her to go. There have been some tears and "I no go to school" but all in all she is doing great with it. We recently had our first parent teacher conference for Sophia and she is adjusting and already learning. As Amy likes to say "They are like sponges!" Well a bossy sponge I guess!

Halloween!

We had so much fun trick or treating this year! Carlo was a cowboy and Sophia was Ariel. Both Carl (and Oliver!) and I got to go with the kids thanks to the NICU putting me on call. Luckily I didn't get called in and got to go out with the kids and go to one of our good friends houses for a little pre and post Halloween fun. I have to say the kids were absolutely exhausted and crashed when they got home. Then Carl and I got to raid their candy!

Sophia as Ariel (she had makeup on which she was so excited about!; just blush and lipgloss!)

I couldn't resist! They looked so cute!

Getting Ready for Halloween on Grant St.

Our neighborhood friends had a Halloween party and it was just what we needed to get into the Halloween spirit! I had to work so I didn't get to stay long but I did get to taste Steve Adam's Jambolya; delicious! The kids (with the help of the parents) carved pumkins and there was a smorgashborg of yummy food. Carlo decided he wanted to be a fireman for the party and Sophia was a fairy. No one seemd to want to be what costumes I bought them for Halloween! Oh well, we had a great time and that's all that matters!

A crazy man and his devil!

Abraham Lincoln's Halloween Parade

Carlo's school has a Halloween parade every year where all the kids get dressed up and they walk downtown. This year the Bangor Highschool marching band led the way and the kids went to one of the local assisted living centers. The kids marched through and said hi to all the residents. It was really nice and all the residents seemed to appreciate it. Afterwards they headed back to the school and made their way around the gym for some treats. The kids had a really good time and had fun seeing their friends in their costumes.

Dinner at Nana and Pop's
One of our stops was dinner at Nana and Pop's to see all the family while we were in town. Dinner was delicious and active as always! Dessert by Aunt Carol was amazing as always! We also got to meet the new member of the Mazzarelli family, Elizabeth (Liza). She was just perfect and we were so glad we got the chance to meet her!
