A Little Cosmetic Work
We have been wanting to take down the wall paper in the front entry way, up the stairs and in the upstairs hallway. The wall paper was let's just say, not our style. So since the house is over 100 years old we had to take the wall paper down to the horse hair plaster (yes, there actually is horse hair in the plaster), then fix the bad spots with plaster, sand it, prime it and paint it. Well it is not done yet, but we have all the paper down, most of the bad spots are fixed and some of it has new plaster on it. Needless to say the 1 month of damp rain did not help us get much done. We are getting there. Once Carl and I have off a weekend we can try to get this project done. We did get our little powder room downstairs re-done, but silly me forgot to take before and after pics! But it looks great and I am so happy with the results (we only really spent about $80 total!) I am really looking forward to seeing the finished project in the hallways/stairs! More pics to come when we are done.
Our little helper (ha ha)
The front door where part of the plaster was crumbling. We had to take down the old pieces and put up new sheet rock to fix it.
