Our Roundabout Trip to Borestone Mountain
We decided to take a day trip to a place called Gulf Hagas. So I got directions on mapquest, we packed up and headed out. Well, we tried to avoid the unpaved roads on mapquest and we ended up no where near Gulf Hagas. The area we were in was for logging which was VERY bumpy! And logging roads are NOT paved! On the way there we saw Borestone Mountain, so when we turned around after giving up we stopped at Borestone. The hike is about 2 miles. The first part was climbing at quite an incline. The kids did great considering the humid weather and having never truely hiked before. We didn't go to the top because we were a little short on time but we went to the look out called Greenview Point and had a picinic lunch. The view was amazing! I am so glad we found this beautiful spot even though we did not reach our original destination.
My little trooper!
This is what most of the hike looked like. It was very easy to trip on the roots!
